coupleofdays, a friend of mine from cohost posted this gross looking Nutting Associates arcade machine to celebrate it being the kind of November where you are supposed avoid stuff related to Nutting:
(There are more pics behind the source link.)
I’m currently working my way through a character modeling tutorial series for Blender. So far we have only done low-poly hard-surface modeling, but I do know the basics of subdivision modeling so I decided to see if I can put my early skills to the test to recreate this gross shape.
It still lacks that icky sheen and highlights of the original (and of course the screen and buttons and such). I’m struggling to recreate those using shader nodes, but I think I’m going to avoid sinking any more effort into doing this silly bit. Also, I’m running into this annoying GPU driver bug (I think) where I cannot render this using cycles with scene lights included.
Anyways, enjoy this gross shape and happy No Nutting November.
